Fastnet 2011
The first night at sea Crossing the Irish Sea All we saw of The Rock! Photos from our 2009 Campaign. For this classic offshore racing campaign we have a crew who will get stuck in and have a sense of humour. Our aim is to develop crew skills throughout the campaign, sailing the boat as hard as we can without breaking anything or anybody - and with us all wanting a beer together at the end of it. The team includes 2 Yachtmaster Instructors, 1 Cruising Instructor, 3 ex-Clipper Round The World Crew, and 4 Day Skippers with crew coming from all backgrounds. Follow our adventures in the blog below - and do say "HI" if you see us on the water. We get together for the first time as a team at the London Boatshow on the 15th January starting the campaign as we mean to finish - with a beer! In Prime Evil, our Sigma 400, we have a good suite of racing sails, all the electronics you could want and a boat which performs well no matter whether it is light or strong winds - and is comfortable at the same time! Modern racing on a boat with traditional solid build. We have looked at the provisional RORC programme for the year and have selected the following dates for our qualifiers and training :-
Sailing Blog by TripSailor Once we get underway properly we will be adding a map showing our progress. This will be using a SPOT Messenger as a tracker linked into our TripSailor account. The SPOT Messenger gives us tracking capability, the ability to send "OK" messages to friends if we are running late and gives us a back means of shouting for help if things take a turn for the worse. TripSailor allows us to take the tracking from SPOT Messenger and to upload photos and blog updates via mobile phone.
