Wetstuff is aimed at those looking to "splash out" and spend some quality time on the water. In choosing Prime Evil, our Sigma 400, you are getting the opportunity to race on a famous boat (in racing circles at least), with an enviable racing history. For any of you thinking that this means a stripped out racer with little or no comforts, think again! She is comfortable and quick!! Our racing events are open to all. We have crew ranging from complete novices to crew who are taking part in the 09-10 Clipper Round The World Race. They all have the same desire to develop their sailing skills in a fun atmosphere. Racing Charters For those of you lucky enough to have a crew, but no boat, why not charter Prime Evil to enter the event of your choice? Racing charters are looked after on a case by case basis - after all, it is you who decides which events you would like to enter. Days and weekends 2009/10. Portsmouth Parhelion Series,March / April 2010 - with upto 2 races a day, these are short and sharp, fun races. Our aims are to use these races to introduce newcomers to yacht racing and to give those who have sailed already a chance to develop their skills. We are offering training on the Friday followed by racing on the Saturday. Cost £180 per head Discounts available for multiple bookings or a group. RORC Races - we are aiming to take part in several of the 2010 RORC races. Are you up for the challenge of one of the classic offshore races? Our RORC races are chosen to give us a decent ashore in addition to good racing. These are great ways to build up your racing CV ready to charter a boat for events in years to come. Cervantes Trophy - racing from Cowes to Le Havre. Crew join on the evening of the 30th April, with us returning to Gosport on the afternoon of the 3rd May. Cost £240 per head. Morgan Cup - Racing in the Channel, the destination for 2010 has yet to be confirmed. Join on the evening of the 10th June. The rest of the details are yet to be confirmed. Csot £240 per head. Cowes - Dinard - St Malo - This race sees crew join on the evening of the 1st July, then we race to St Malo returning to Gosport for the evening of the 6th. All being well this should allow for a good run ashore before stopping off at the Channel Islands on the way home. Cost £400 per head.. Cherbourg Race - Cowes to Cherbourg, the final RORC race of the year.Join on the evening of the 2nd September for a training sail on the Friday. Race starts around 1900 on the 4th, return to Gosport by the evning of the 6th. Cost £240. Sail Handling / Race Training Weekends - these 2 day courses will allow you to get to grips with the techniques used to set and change racing headsails, and to develope the skills needed to set, gybe and drop spinnakers. Maximum of 6 students, cost £240. 16-18th April, 21-23rd May, 25-27th June. Round the Island Race 2010 17-20th June
Tour Des Ports 2010, July - 10-18th July, only 2 places left! A new event for us, this week long event is a mix of day races around the Cherbourg Peninsula and the Channel Islands. We will be taking part using our roller-reefing Genoa (to allow for quicker changes of gear) plus the spinnakers to gives us the power off the breeze. Crew join in Jersey on the 9th, or a couple of days earlier for the delivery down. The cost will be £750 including a training weekend. Register your interest for the 2011 race now. This classic offshore race requires dedication and enthusiasm - and that's just to qualify! With at least 300 miles of offshore racing required before you can take part in the Fastnet and compulsory training elements, our Fastnet 2011 package will see you sailing a total of around 1200 miles, in 4 races (including the Fastnet itself) and having two training weekends. You will get to be fully involved in our team, helping decide matters along the way that will make it "your Fastnet". Our overall aim is to do as well as possible, without breaking anything - and all wanting a beer together at the end! We already have two crew wanting to sign up, will you be next? There are a whole raft of other racing events that you may be interested in. These range from the World famous Cowes Week - open to anyone- to industry specific events such as the Manches Cup - for the legal profession. A selection of events are listed below:-
